Continuing in my study of character design, I've started a set of pieces focused on an assigned theme of colonial mice by my college professor. This is the model sheet for the main character in my colonial mice theme for the DraZtic webpage. For this particular model sheet, I had to a normal model turn around (the top picture) and a character creation guideline (bottom picture). The model turn around is obviously for showing off the character at all angles. The character creation guide is a guideline for an artist other than myself to use in creating this character. In other words, it's a set of directions so that anyone could draw this character correctly. It goes in a step by step process drawing wise, as well as having written instructions with each drawing noting details that may go unnoticed to someone other than myself about the character. For example, some people may not notice that the character has two whiskers. I appologize if you can't read my handwriting, this was a non computer generated piece, so I had to write out the instructions by hand, and my handwriting isn't that legible. You may notice that under medium I list photoshop. I did NOT use photoshop to make this piece (that should be obvious but you never know). This piece was hand drawn and the only mediums I used to make thise piece were Col-Erase pencils. I list Photoshop as a medium because I used Photoshop to crop the piece to viewable size as well as add the DraZtic logo. You may also notice that I have two dates. An added to site date and an actually finished date. That is because this is one of four pieces added to the site on April 17th, but wereall done by March the 11th. |
