Ok, no argument this time, this is by far the greatest work I've done yet for the DraZtic webpage. This piece blows Kirby Ball out the water. Another file created in Maya 4.0, except I'm more willing to claim this piece as my own. While once again, this piece was done for a class assignment following a tutorial, this tutorial was less confining and allowed for ALOT of freedom in terms of what I wanted to do. And you can see from the file that I added in much of my own style to the piece. If you look, you'll see in the piece are objects ( the ball, blocks, the box) are the older pieces "Classic DraZ" and "DraZTron 5000" as well as my site logo. Also, the actual jack (the head) was created by me using Maya's Artisan tools (which allows for the use of the Wacom Pen). I decided to make a demon head, unlike the tutorial which was just this ugly head with a cone hat. Besides that, the morphing of the jack and box were also done completely by me. Squishes, crank rotation, lighting, everything was completely free and decided by me. The main things that had to be followed by rules were the techinical stuff that HAD to be followed in the tutorial (for example, how to turn on the lighting). I was very impressed with the piece, and after seeing the animation I just went nuts at how cool it looked. Only comment I can say is that I know the bouncing ends abruptly, but I didn't want to bother changing it because I like how it stops like that, it allows you to look at the piece. While I know the next project I do in Maya is going to blow this one out the water, as of right now, this animation is king of art pieces on the page. The animation is twice as big as the Kirby Ball one, but that's not saying much considering that the Kirby Ball animation was only 60 frames. Ok, get the clicking.
