For those of you checking out the Animation section of the DraZtic webpage, you'd know about my journey through my 3D class and my various 3D projects. This is my first actual 3D image that was made to be just a 3D image. This project of course was done for my 3D class, but unlike the 3 previous animations, this piece was done completely by me. No tutorials at all, or following any instructions other than my professor telling me "Make an F4 Phantom". And I had to make it from scratch, including the texture which was a pain to do and get lined up right (and even though it looks nice, it's not EXACTLY like the real Bicentennial F4 Phantom 2. I haven't gotten graded on this yet, I'll update you on what I get (hopefully in the A-B range). It was easy not following instructions, but hard not following instructions, if you get the idea. Alot of fighting with Maya happened with this piece, but I'm glad about how it came out. Of course, the logo was put on there in Photoshop, but other than that and the texture, all Maya. The background by the way was done using Maya Paint Effects. |
