Arguably the best work I've ever done on the DraZtic webpage. Arguably because it definately wasn't the hardest, and it looks good mostly because of the 3D program that is Maya. This is my first Maya project, created for my first 3D college course on Maya. This file is actually part of a tutorial we (myself and the other students) had to do for class. The main reason I really can't call this original work is because while I did this myself, I followed the instructions in the book to create the file. In fact, the only thing I didn't do exactly like the instructions said was import a picture of Kirby for the ball design (the one I turned in has the "required" face). Everyone in the course had to do the exact same project, which might not look exactly the same as mine (minus the Kirby face again) but is the same project. The book is that precise that there isn't much room for your own inspiration or margin for error. But at the same time, Maya was so confusing when I created this project I didn't want to stray away from the book. Maya is a very complicated program, and I feel sorry for anyone trying to learn it on their own, because they will never learn half of what the program has to offer.

Anyway, like I said, I can't speak much on the creation of the project, in fact the only hard part was learning how to use Maya and trying to figure out what the book was telling me. Maya is a very precise program, so if you messed up something, it was almost like doing html code, you had to make sure you didn't get a number wrong or something like that. Believe me when I say Photoshop and Flash are much easier to use. But I figure as I progress I'll get better and feel more comfortable (I better, since most jobs in my field require this program). Anyway, this animation is of a ball (Kirby ball) jumping through a flaming hoop. That's it. It's very short, has no music, and is alot quicker to download than my other Flash animations (a relief to most I would believe). But believe me when I say I spent alot of time making this, so it is site worthy. Anyway, enjoy, but don't worry, more Maya stuff will be coming, and soon, stuff of my own creation.
