A new traditional 2D animation similar to "Super Splash Ball" for the DraZtic webpage. And like "Super Splash Ball" this file was done for my 2D animation class. The premise of the file and project is to create a character and have the character swing from a cliff to a platform that is lower than the cliff on an vine like object (like Tarzan). For the project I created a simple little character I call "Squishy Tarzan" and have him swinging from a cliff to a platform. The catch (and funny part) is the vine, which you'll find out about in the movie. Anyway, the movie was made in Flipbook and a capture station at 24fps with 85 frames originally, and originally saved as an AVI. But because it had credits, which I didn't want shown, I decided to edit it in Windows Movie Maker, and take out the credit frames. Because of this the animation is less frames than the original, and had to be saved as a Windows Media Video file (which I had no problem with since most people have that on their computers). One thing you may notice is that the animation is very dark.

This is because of Flipbook and was intentional. Flipbook allows for you to use layers in your animation. Layers that can be overlapped and can be seen even if covered up. The cliff and the platform were stationary throught out most of the animation (except when Squishy Tarzan lands on the platform). Because of this, I didn't want to have to draw them 50 something times in the same position. So I used Flipbook's layering abilities so I only had to draw the platform and cliff once (excluding when Squishy Tarzan lands on the platform). But of course, the drawback is that the picture is dark because of all the overlapping. It's a small price to pay though in terms of time to make the animation. Anyway, watch, laugh, hope you enjoy it.
