Another model sheet from my gaming concept for the DraZtic webpage. Once again, the actual model had to be a certain number of polygons and could not be rendered because the assignment required the piece to look like something in an actual real time videogame, and basically a PS2 game. So the Textures couldn't be more than 256 by 256, we could only use a total of 5, and could only have three rooms. My second project in 3D Studio Max and it definately is one of my better ones. I used Vertex painting with this piece because we couldn't use actual light sources. So the light you see coming from the lamps is actually painted on colors on the actual room models to make it look like light is coming from the lamps. I know the pictures are kind of small, so work with me here. Anyway in this model sheet you can see four pics of the model, 2 of the model in wire frame mode, 1 of the initial sketch, and the five textures. Note that the texture in the middle was used on various objects. I just mapped on different parts of that texture onto different things. For example, there are various paintings and rugs in the piece. I mapped on different sections of that texture for different objects. So for example doors in the piece and the rugs and paintings are ALL the same texture, but I only used certain portions of it. This caused a few textures to become VERY pixelated, but those were the limits I was given. I'm not going to explain the room's function in the game since it's right there on the model sheet. As for how I made the model sheet, I took the pictures into Photoshop and used various photoshop effects to make the pictures look like buttons. Note that in two of the pictures you can SEE through the walls. This is because of back curling. I made ALL the walls in this piece, and the piece has a ceiling. But if I had the ceiling and other objects turned on you wouldn't be able to see much in a "full view" shot. So even though you may see some "floating objects" particularly in the first room picture, just know that there are walls there that they are attached to.
