| Info | Another piece that should have been taken out the DraZtic vault a LONG time ago. If you check the date you'll see that I created this piece in May. And if you've been checking out my Demo Reel and Flatbook you have already had a glimpse of this piece for a couple of months. This piece is a Maquette/Clay Statue of the Pirate Mouse character I created. For more information on this character, please check out the Pirate Mouse Model Sheet in the Originals section of the DraZtic webpage. As far as creation, I first had to create the frame work for the Maquette using metal wire and aluminum foil. Then I bonded the feet, tail, and sword wire frame to the wood using metal glue. Afterwards I then put on the clay piece by piece to the wire model. Then I put the piece (wood and all) into the oven. Once harded and cooled I painted it using red Akrylic. The reason I chose red is because most people choose a light blue paint to paint their Maquettes and I wanted to try something different. While it's not the first time I've worked with clay or wire, it's a first for this webpage in terms of content. Although I can't promise more pieces like these in the future. |
